ABOUT CBAHI
What Is CBAHI Accreditation?
The Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) is Saudi Arabia’s official national accreditation body, established in 2005 under the Saudi Health Council. In 2013, a Council of Ministers decree made CBAHI accreditation mandatory for all public and private healthcare facilities in the Kingdom.
CBAHI accreditation is directly linked to operating license renewal. Facilities that fail to meet the standards risk losing their license to operate. The framework evaluates healthcare facilities against predefined criteria grouped into three domains:
Structural standards — inputs like manpower, building design, equipment, and supplies.
Process standards — clinical and administrative activities including patient care protocols.
Outcome standards — measurable results of care, safety indicators, and patient satisfaction.
WHAT WE OFFER
Our CBAHI Consulting Services
End-to-end support from initial assessment through successful accreditation and ongoing compliance.
Gap Analysis & Assessment
Comprehensive evaluation of your facility’s current status against all applicable CBAHI standards. We identify compliance gaps, prioritize remediation actions, and provide a detailed roadmap to accreditation readiness.
Policy & Procedure Development
Development and review of all required documentation — from infection control protocols and medication management policies to patient rights procedures and clinical operation manuals aligned with CBAHI requirements.
Staff Training & Education
Targeted training programs for clinical and administrative staff covering CBAHI standards, Essential Safety Requirements (ESR), documentation practices, and survey preparedness to build a culture of compliance.
Mock Surveys & Readiness Reviews
We simulate the official CBAHI survey experience — department walkthroughs, staff interviews, documentation audits, and patient tracer methodology — so your facility enters the real survey with confidence.
Essential Safety Requirements (ESR)
ESR compliance is the minimum mandatory threshold for patient safety. We ensure your facility meets every Essential Safety Requirement — the non-negotiable standards that CBAHI evaluates before anything else.
Re-Accreditation & Continuous Improvement
CBAHI accreditation requires ongoing compliance. We support your facility through re-accreditation cycles with continuous monitoring, periodic internal audits, and quality improvement programs.
